As a student, you have the benefit of using numerous pieces of software under an Educational license, which is usually offered at no cost, compared to a retail copy which can be several hundred dollars or more.
In some circumstances, you may need to provide a transcript, or similar documentation that shows proof you are currently enrolled in a school/course.
A transcript is a snapshot of your academic history, and current enrollment, and in most cases will be enough to satisfy and meet the software vendor's eligibility requirements.
