Connecting to Red (Windows 10)

Connecting to red.sheridanc.on.ca from a Sheridan computer is straightforward, but if you're trying to connect from a personal computer running Windows 10, you may see an error like the one below.

If you do, you can follow the steps below to set up your Windows credentials.

Setting Up Your Windows Credential

Step 1

Open the Start Menu, and search for "Credential Manager"

Step 2

Select "Windows Credentials"
Select "Add a Windows Credential"

Step 3

Enter '\\red.sheridanc.on.ca' as the "Internet or network address"
Enter your Sheridan user name, preceded by 'shernet\', like in the image below
Enter your Sheridan password
Click "OK", to save the credential

Note: Check your user name entry carefully, making sure it matches format of "shernet\[your_username]", like in the image below
